History

In 1894 Carl Keller presented the result of his design work: the first finger car for brickworks.

The founder of the firm, the passionately keen inventor with a thorough knowledge of business – still a rare combination at that time – made sure his first successful design was followed up by many others.

So he presented the KELLER fully automatic machine, the "Hörstel Model", in 1910 with which he gained a reputation beyond the German frontiers. This equipment enabled the cutting and simultaneous setting of the green bricks on the supporting laths or pallets.

When Carl Keller died in 1932, despite the difficult years then shaken by crises, he left behind a solid foundation on which his successors could develop a secure future.

Since the end of the year 2000 KELLER HCW GmbH has been a member of the CERIC group, which again was taken over by the French Legris Industries Group in October 2006.

Until today, KELLER HCW has been sticking to the principles of its founding father and most consistently develops plants and machinery according to the motto "Tradition is Innovation". This is one of the reasons why KELLER HCW has until today been able to sustain and strengthen its position as technological market leader.
